EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič begins two days of talks in Beijing with Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, as the bloc's trade deficit with China hits a record €1 billion a day. Brussels wants product-specific import quotas, but China has rejected voluntary limits on electric vehicles. EU leaders expect concrete results before next week's summit in Brussels, and harsher measures could follow if the talks fail.
