Diesel Goldmine: Shell's Refining Profit Per Barrel Set to Nearly Double

Shell expects its refineries to earn about $42 for every barrel of fuel processed between July and September, up from $24 in the previous quarter and well above the 2022 high of around $28. Global shortages, driven by war damage to refineries in the Middle East and Russia, have pushed diesel to record prices. The company also raised its gas production forecast for the quarter.
