Scottish universities face £200m funding gap, warns new report

Scotland's universities are struggling with a funding gap of about £200m annually, according to a new report that warns of a "bleak" future. An analysis, jointly undertaken by the Scottish government and Universities Scotland, determined that the cost of teaching Scottish students exceeds government funding by £288m. Universities depend on fee-paying international students, whose declining numbers are causing severe financial problems.
