Scotland to see rare partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12

Scotland will experience a rare partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12, with up to 93% of the sun blocked in some west coast areas. Viewing parties are organised across the country, including Carlton Hill in Edinburgh and Whitelee Windfarm in Lanarkshire. Free certified eclipse glasses will be distributed at numerous events, with warnings issued against direct sun observation.
