Scotland plans legal price caps on basic foods like bread and milk

The First Minister wants to limit prices on up to 50 everyday items at large retailers, a move food bosses branded a "potty gimmick". Setting out his agenda at Holyrood on Tuesday, John Swinney said the policy would ease financial pressure on families.
