Players could face serious harm at the 2026 World Cup due to "inadequate" heat safety measures, with temperatures potentially exceeding dangerous levels at 14 of 16 stadiums. World-leading scientists have warned Fifa in an open letter that its current guidelines are "impossible to justify." They are calling for matches to be delayed or postponed if the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) goes above 28C.
