Sam Altman calls GPT-5.5 an autistic genius

OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman described the company's GPT-5.5 model as "an autistic genius with very strange taste in naming" in a post on X on Friday. Altman said he was shocked by what OpenAI had built and praised the model's ability to handle complex coding tasks autonomously through Codex. The phrasing drew criticism online over its language about autism.
