Men's average testosterone levels halved since 1972, say scientists
Scientists say men's average testosterone levels have fallen by 54% between 1972 and 2019, suggesting a major male fertility crisis. Rising obesity and diabetes contribute, but environmental factors like chemicals and global heating are also thought to play a role. The decline, which appears to be accelerating since 2000, has prompted calls for better prevention of exposure to hazardous chemicals.
