£1.4 Billion Tariffs Could Hit UK EV Makers
Higher costs could make some electric vehicles less competitive and less affordable for buyers. Britain's main car industry group said on Tuesday that, without an agreement on post-Brexit local content rules with the European Union, tariffs would apply from January. A 10% charge would affect 70% of battery electric and plug-in hybrid models traded between Britain and the EU.
