Drivers get fuel duty freeze until year end

Motorists will keep paying less for petrol and diesel as the government extends a tax cut. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the 5p fuel duty freeze, initially set to expire in September, will now be extended through December. The freeze will cost £455 million this tax year, and also cuts red diesel duty and offers hauliers a 12-month vehicle tax holiday.
