Wes Streeting Backs More North Sea Drilling
Energy policy could shift again if Labour changes course on oil and gas production. Wes Streeting said Labour should consider granting fresh North Sea licences and cutting employers’ national insurance contributions as he set out ideas during a Sunday Times interview published on 31 May. He argued extra drilling would bring in more tax income, while still supporting a move towards renewable power.
