Iranian Migrant Deported to France for Second Time After Re-entering UK by Small Boat
An Iranian man removed to France in September under the UK-France returns deal returned to the UK by small boat in October, claiming he was unsafe in France and a victim of modern slavery. He was quickly detected by biometrics upon arrival and has now been deported again. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood emphasized the incident shows the system is working, while critics called it evidence the government is in chaos. The scheme has returned 94 migrants to France since August.
