UK to halt Russian fuel, yet billions still fund war
Britain will stop importing Russian diesel and jet fuel by January 2027, as part of its sanctions package against Moscow after the war. The government decided this after criticism in May for allowing refined Russian oil via other countries, saying global supply issues required flexibility. Yet a campaigner, Sir Bill Browder, called this "absurd," claiming it still gives Russia billions to fund its war.
