Experts warn the cost of living crisis will worsen next year, potentially extending into 2028, creating a challenge for Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Mortgage interest rates are currently increasing, with the cost of a two-year fixed rate having grown by 0.89% since March. Food inflation is predicted to reach almost 4% by Christmas and then climb to a high of 6.4% in July 2027.
