Western Reef Heron Reaches UK for First Time
Birdwatchers across Britain have gained a rare chance to see species not usually found here, while experts say milder winters are helping some birds remain alive through colder months. Last week, a western reef heron arrived in north Wales in what is believed to be the country's first recorded sighting. Hundreds travelled to see it after it was found at Foryd Bay and later near Caernarfon harbour.
