Rain brings hope for Cairngorms wildfire crews

Rain has brought hope of relief for firefighters battling the Cairngorms wildfire, burning in the Scottish Highlands since 15 July. More than 500 firefighters and support staff have joined the operation since it began, with helicopters used to douse the blaze from the air. Fire officials say the blaze, which has affected areas near Nethy Bridge and Tomintoul, remains a significant multi-agency operation.
