69 MSPs Reject Assisted Dying Bill in Scotland
Terminally ill adults in Scotland won't have the option to choose assisted dying, as proposed legislation failed. Members of the Scottish Parliament chose not to pass the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill, brought by Liberal Democrat MSP Liam McArthur. Lawmakers expressed concerns about vulnerable people and insufficient protections for medical professionals, with the vote being 69 against to 57 for.
