Expert warns two common sleeping pills linked to increasing deaths
Users of some over-the-counter sleeping pills, often assumed safe, risk serious harm, dependence, and misuse if taken incorrectly. Dipa Kamdar, a Kingston University expert, issued a new warning about promethazine and diphenhydramine. These sedating antihistamines are linked to increasing deaths, and prolonged use can cause tolerance, requiring higher doses and leading to rebound insomnia.
