Legendary director James Burrows dies aged 85

He directed over 1,000 episodes of beloved shows like Friends and Cheers, shaping generations of comedy. His family confirmed he passed away peacefully today, after a career spanning more than 50 years in television. Burrows, who co-created Cheers, won 11 Emmy Awards and five Directors Guild of America Awards.
