One Tonne of Cocaine Seized at Essex Port
Border Force officers seized approximately one tonne of cocaine at London Gateway Port in Essex, triggering an NCA investigation. The drugs, shrink-wrapped and concealed in holdalls, were found in a container shipped from Panama alongside ceramics and kitchenware destined for Norway. The street value is estimated at around £80 million, though the NCA values the UK portion at £8 million.
