Four Astronauts Fly Toward the Moon After 53 Years

For the first time since 1972, humans are travelling beyond low Earth orbit - a test run for future lunar landings and eventually Mars. NASA's Artemis II lifted off from Kennedy Space Center at 6:35 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, carrying a crew of four on a roughly ten-day trip around the Moon. Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen each become the first person of colour, woman, and non-American to fly beyond low Earth orbit.
