Block cuts 4,000 jobs as it uses AI
Jack Dorsey's technology company, Block, is cutting around 4,000 jobs from its workforce. The company's headcount will fall from 10,000 to less than 6,000 after these layoffs. Block stated that these reductions are happening because it is embracing artificial intelligence. CEO Jack Dorsey said AI changes how companies are built, and Block's shares increased over 20%.
