Anthropic pulls Fable 5 worldwide on US order

Anthropic pulls Fable 5 worldwide on US order

Anthropic has disabled its two most powerful AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, after the US government issued an export control directive on Friday suspending access for any foreign national, including the company’s own foreign employees. The Commerce Department order, signed by Secretary Howard Lutnick, followed a claim by another company that it had jailbroken Mythos. Anthropic said it disagrees with the order, calling it a likely misunderstanding, and is working to restore access.
