Manchester's 20,000-person Eid prayers cancelled over safety concerns
Muslims in Manchester will need to make other arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers this year. The traditional 'Eid in the Park' outdoor prayers at Platt Fields Park have been cancelled due to safety and operational concerns, including weather and parking issues. Manchester Central Mosque will announce Eid after verified moon-sighting on March 19, 2026, while Turkey and Singapore confirmed March 20 and 21 for their celebrations.
