UK sees 403,000 new cancer cases yearly

Longer waits for tests and treatment could slow progress for patients as cancer cases keep rising across the UK. Cancer Research UK said more than 403,000 people are now diagnosed each year, with cases linked mainly to an ageing population and higher obesity levels. Around 107,000 patients waited over 62 days to start treatment in 2025.
