Waitrose worker sacked after 17 years for confronting shoplifter
A long-serving Waitrose employee lost his job after intervening in a shoplifting incident at a Clapham store. Walker Smith, 54, was dismissed after a struggle with a repeat offender over Lindt Easter eggs, despite being told not to confront thieves. He had worked for the retailer for 17 years when the incident occurred.
