Prime Minister Andy Burnham says his new Manchester base is no gimmick

The prime minister worked from Number 10 North for the first time, hoping to connect Whitehall with the wider country. He plans to bring local mayors and government teams together so they can speed up decisions and spread economic growth. He added that the Manchester site is meant to support Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland just as much as England.
