Jess Phillips calls Labour party "a bit sexist"
The Labour party has not had a lasting female leader throughout its history. Jess Phillips, Birmingham Yardley's MP, labelled her party "sexist" during the Hay literary festival, stating it's "a bit sexist innit". She left her safeguarding minister post on 12 May, one of four ministers resigning that day.
