Perplexity launches AI that runs on your own computer locally

Perplexity's new Portable Computer system lets AI tasks start on your machine, only asking permission to send complex steps to cloud models. The system could appeal to users wanting AI convenience without sending all data to a cloud provider. The software, which needs Nvidia hardware with a minimum of 24GB of VRAM, is available to Perplexity Pro and Enterprise subscribers.
