Hearing aids cut dementia risk for epilepsy patients
New research indicates that the likelihood of developing dementia may be 23% lower for adults experiencing both epilepsy and hearing loss who utilise hearing aids. This discovery astonished academics at University Hospital Zurich and the University of Liverpool, given that a comparable advantage was not observed in other high-risk cohorts. The study suggests that for every 37 people with epilepsy using hearing aids, there could be one fewer case of dementia over five years.
