Oscar Piastri Named Red Bull Backup Choice

Formula 1's driver market could change quickly if Max Verstappen leaves his current team. Motorsport.com reported on 7 May that Red Bull leaders Laurent Mekies and Oliver Mintzlaff are considering McLaren driver Piastri as an alternative for 2027, despite his existing deal. Mark Webber has renewed contact with his former team, while McLaren chief Zak Brown could oversee any future talks.
