Oxfordshire illegal waste dump cleared after five months, costing £6 million

An enormous unlawful refuse site, situated close to the River Cherwell in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, has at last been emptied following a five-month effort. Contractors removed over 22,704 tonnes of rubbish, including tyres and household waste, from the 8,000 square metre site. The clean-up cost about £6 million, which the Environment Agency funded, though they plan to pursue those responsible for the money.
