Over a third of Manchester inmates use drugs
Prisoners at HMP Manchester are still experiencing high levels of drug use and serious violence, making the jail a precarious place. Inspectors led by HM Chief Inspector of Prisons Charlie Taylor found these problems persist 15 months after an urgent notification notice was invoked. Random tests showed about 38% of inmates tested positive for drugs, one of the highest rates in England and Wales.
