Over 70 missing after migrant boat capsizes off Libya

A boat carrying around 105 people capsized in the central Mediterranean after leaving Libya on Saturday, leaving more than 70 missing. Two bodies were recovered and 32 survivors were pulled from the water by commercial ships and taken to Lampedusa. The IOM says at least 683 migrants have died or gone missing attempting the crossing since January 2026.
