710 migrants cross Channel, highest this year

It's the biggest single day of arrivals so far this year, coming after two weeks of no crossings due to bad weather. The Home Office said 710 people made the journey on Monday, using 11 small boats to reach Britain. Despite this, the 9,852 crossings counted this year show a 40% reduction when contrasted with the corresponding period of 2025.
