OpenAI uses contractors to read ChatGPT conversations
Under the internal codename Project Lily, OpenAI has engaged hundreds of contractors to evaluate the chatbot's responses by reviewing actual ChatGPT conversations. Although reviewers are not shown usernames, they have access to a user memories summary. Europe's highest court ruled last September that companies must inform users when their data is collected, and Italy has already fined OpenAI €15 million.
