One Battle After Another wins six BAFTAs including best film
Paul Thomas Anderson's film One Battle After Another won six awards at the 79th BAFTA Film Awards on 22 February, including best film, director, adapted screenplay, supporting actor for Sean Penn, cinematography and editing. Hamnet won outstanding British film, with Jessie Buckley taking best leading actress. Ryan Coogler's Sinners won best original screenplay, making Coogler the first Black person to win that BAFTA. Robert Aramayo took best actor for I Swear, beating Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet. The awards were overshadowed by the racial slur incident.
