UK economy grows 0.9% this year, 2027 outlook cut

The UK economy will see better growth this year, but the 2027 forecast is lower, pointing to harder times. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an international economic body, has updated its forecast, now projecting the UK economy will expand by 0.9% this year, which is an upgrade from its previous estimates. But the 2027 growth forecast was lowered to 1.1% from 1.3%, mainly because of the Middle East conflict.
