Jersey passes law allowing doctors to end lives
The States Assembly in Jersey has voted to accept a new bill allowing terminally ill adults to end their lives. Unlike plans elsewhere in Britain, this legislation permits doctors to give lethal injections directly instead of patients taking medication themselves. Eligibility requires a prognosis of under six months, or twelve months for specific neurological conditions. The document will now undergo scrutiny by the Ministry of Justice to receive formal Royal Assent.
