Democrat Swalwell accused of rape by former employee
The campaign for California governor by Democratic candidate Eric Swalwell faces trouble as key supporters and powerful labour unions have pulled their backing. A former employee accused the congressman of rape in 2024, with three other women also alleging sexual assault and harassment. Mr Swalwell denies all claims, which include an incident alleged to have occurred in 2019.
