Hormuz mines could take six months to clear

Pentagon officials told lawmakers in a classified briefing this week that clearing Iranian mines from the Strait of Hormuz could take up to six months, a source told CNN. Around a fifth of the world's oil normally passes through the strait, and the warning suggests sustained pressure on fuel prices even after any ceasefire sticks.
