Thousands of jobs saved as government takes British Steel

Thousands of jobs at British Steel's Scunthorpe plant are expected to be saved by a government takeover. Officials are drafting legislation for the full nationalisation, with an announcement due in the King's speech this week. The government took daily control last April, but economic control has remained with its Chinese owner, Jingye.
