G7 Split Over US Strategy in Iran
The US-Israel war with Iran is alarming global markets and pushing fuel costs higher. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended a G7 foreign ministers meeting near Paris on 27 March, seeking allied support for the US strategy. European partners pushed for de-escalation. Iran has virtually closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of global oil and gas supplies normally pass.
