Iran War Death Toll Nears 2,000 After 33 Days
Casualties continue to climb with no ceasefire in sight. Al Jazeera's preliminary count puts the dead at 1,937 in Iran, at least 24 in Israel, 13 US soldiers, and 27 across Gulf states hit by retaliatory strikes. Thousands gathered in Tehran on 1 April for the funeral of IRGC naval commander Alireza Tangsiri, whose death Iran confirmed on 30 March.
