Burnham ally urges higher taxes and more borrowing
A close ally of Andy Burnham, Louise Haigh, has proposed significantly increasing capital gains tax and relaxing borrowing rules. She wants to see capital gains tax brought closer to income tax, including a new "death tax" on inherited wealth. Haigh also suggests dismantling the Treasury and allowing the National Wealth Fund to borrow more.
