Nottingham to ban balaclavas and face coverings from 15 September
Nottingham City Council is bringing in a ban on face coverings in the city centre from Tuesday 15 September. Police and community protection officers can instruct individuals to remove face coverings if they suspect the coverings conceal identity for criminal or anti-social acts. Non-compliance could lead to a £70 immediate penalty or legal action, potentially resulting in a fine of up to £1,000.
