Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is consulting on closing urgent primary care centres at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, Ysbyty Alltwen in Tremadog and Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley in Holyhead, possibly by 31 March 2027. The centres opened in 2022 to offer same-day care and ease pressure on GPs and A&E. The board blames tight funding limits, ongoing staff recruitment problems and heavy reliance on temporary workers.
