Officer fighting for life after Northumberland road collision.
A police officer is fighting for their life in hospital following a serious crash on Northumberland's A189 Spine Road. This happened when a black Mercedes made contact with a police car, parked as officers dealt with an earlier two-vehicle incident. The Mercedes driver, a 73-year-old man, was arrested for dangerous driving and remains in custody.
