Tehran wants tanker payments for sea route

Fuel and transport costs could stay higher for years if extra charges are added to oil shipments through one of the world's busiest sea routes for energy trade. Iran is demanding money from vessels passing the narrow channel used for Gulf exports. The proposed charge is $2m for each vessel, and it could lift oil prices.
