Night-Time River Crash in Congo Leaves at Least 22 Dead

At least 22 people have died after two vessels collided on the Congo River near Ngombe in western Equateur province, a provincial minister told Reuters. A passenger riverboat heading to Kinshasa sank after striking a commercial boat in the early hours of Saturday. A security source said 163 people were aboard. Fifty-nine were rescued, and recovery work was still continuing on Monday evening, officials said.
